Well strings and the texture and feel they create, are a preference for different players. I like the nickle wound string for the sound and clarity they offer.  Also the string gauge is another preference and some players like a tighter string feel and some like the looser feel.  So try several kinds of strings and gauges, so you can come up with what you like to feel and hear from your picks.
