Dale Watson - One More, Once More

Dale and Ricky have done it once more, with feeling! What can I say? Is there a musical style that Dale won't try his hand at? Is there anything Dale does that Ricky can't add exactly the right touch to? It takes some talent, courage, and hard work to put out a CD this good containing sensitive treatments of old chestnuts and new. Not soppy, smarmy, or schmaltzy -- but genuine, nostalgic, and way way cool.

Does Ricky's "Blue Darlin'" sound great or what? Check it these great cuts, courtesy of Ricky "One Hell Of a Steel Player" Davis.

Dale, Ricky and the "Blonde Darlin".  (Don't tell Ed!)    Next week, Ricky is going to see a specialist in Zurich to have the microphone surgically removed from his forehead.

Billy Dee - Heart, Don't Fail Me Now

A strong solo effort by Texas country singer-songwriter/bass player extraordinaire Billy Dee Donahue. Produced by friend and musical compadre Dale Watson, this CD features(on Guitars) Dale, Redd Volkaert,(On Drums) Dave Sanger, Ron Erwin and Chris Gilson, Erik Hokkanen On Fiddle and Ricky Davis on his ShoBud Pedal Steel.

"Right from the start you know these are the real goods... the perfect honky-tonk, two-steppin', cry-in-your-beer song in "(Baby) What'll I Do." It segues into another perfect example of the genre, yet with a completely different sound. This CD is chock full of songs that sound like classics. Billy Dee is the master at the traditional country song in all its forms and his great, barroom voice is as smooth as the proverbial velvet hammer." -Bill Grohl for Austin Americana
